Casa Guadalupana Catholic Worker House is a community of individuals who believe in the Gospel call to love one other through ordinary actions. We know that Christ has a special love for the poor and marginalized and seek to stay close to Him through our association with them.
Casa Guadalupana provides temporary housing and other assistance to Latina women and their families who are experiencing difficulties in their lives while they work toward the goal of self-sufficiency.
We pay no salaries so that all of our resources can be used to serve these beloved and so that we may exist solely through the generosity of others who share the belief that we are to be our brother’s and our sister’s keeper. We accept no government funding.
Casa Guadalupana House of Hospitality reaches out in simplicity, compassionate action and solidarity to those who are struggling to meet their most basic human needs. Inspired by Dorothy Day, we seek to share what we have with those in need and to do so in a way that respects the sacred dignity of the person.
We attempt to build bridges between those who are suffering and those who will help if given an opportunity to do so. We also use our voices to advocate for those unable to advocate for themselves and to work for systemic change and a just society through our collaborations with other faithful in the social justice community.
We embrace all who would like to share in our journey of making the world a more just and loving place.
